Our Company » Company Structure, Policies & Operations

There are several reasons to choose a company to help you with your web development needs. First and foremost, you need to be confident that you are going to be able to work with that company and you need to know that that company has methodologies and procedures in place to accomplish what you are need. This section of our site explains how our company is set up and how we work with our clients to ensure top level customer satisfaction.

What is the process of doing new work with Frontier Web Development like in general?
Our process is both organized and flexible. We have worked with start up companies and multi-national organizations. Every client is at a different stage in their business and we have the experience and expertise to keep all of our client's moving forward.

Our process starts with consulting. We brainstorm with our clients to be sure we understand their goals. We make sure our clients understand how we work and how the technologies that we present to them work. We make models, web mock-ups and go through them in detail with our clients to get their feedback and to ensure that the project plan and deliverables are understood. We do this all at no cost for new development projects!

Once the project deliverables are agreed upon, the project is fully estimated and payment terms are agreed upon. Development is done according to plan and the client is actively involved in reviewing, testing, and fine tuning beta versions of the final product to ensure that goals and objectives are met before the project is considered complete. Our relationship doesn’t end there, we continue to support client’s projects and guide clients through upgrades as their business grows.

What is the structure of employees at Frontier Web Development?
Frontier operates in two separate offices that are in constant contact with each other. Our development office is in Ternopil, Ukraine. This office seats one manager, two project consultants, four senior developers, two designers, and one tester. The second office is in Minnetonka, MN and is where the sales and project planning for clients take place. Frontier uses this dual office structure to keep developing costs down for clients. All hours billed by Frontier are billed at the rate that they can be done by our most experienced developer. Thus, Frontier customers know that they will not be paying someone to learn what they are doing.

What is the payment structure for web developing services?
Frontier offers a few different web developing services, so it depends on what customers are asking us to do. Below are the services we offer and the payment structure with each procedure.

  • For new site development, large redesigns, large or upgrades:
This type of work is always initiated by Frontier completing an estimate on the work to be done. Estimates are usually given in writing before work begins. Frontier usually works closely with their clients to ensure everyone is on the same page about what work will be done before any programming work is started. Putting together accurate estimates is usually done for free and  billed once the full terms of the project begin.  We choose to run our business this way as a measure to earn work from our clients. We use our experience and expertise and to help our clients realize what they are asking for as deliverables. Once the deliverables and estimates are agreed upon, we ask that new customers choose one of two payment methods:
    • 1st Option: Traditional 50 / 50 Contract
This is a standard agreement that states the deliverables on a project and states the amount agreed upon for those deliverables. The first payment is due prior to starting the project and the second payment is due once the developer has completed all necessary programming. Once the payment is complete, the client owns all rights and all code and all source files developed.
    • 2nd Option: Payment Plan
This agreement allows customers do develop the web site they need and to start working with them before the all the development is paid for. We offer 12 month financing at no extra charge and we also offer longer financing programs as well. There is no credit check and we do not use a 3rd party to finance the projects. Once the project is complete, the new work will be available for all Internet users to take advantage of. The only restriction is that customers who choose this method of payment must use one of our hosting plans and they will not be given full access or rights to the code that is developed for them until the payment is complete. The first monthly payment is made before the project starts and payments are made once per month until the amount due is complete. If a monthly payment is late, the customer will be have two weeks to complete that payment and if the payment is not made after those two weeks, Frontier reserves the right to take down the web site until the payments are up to date.
  • Payment For Change Orders and Small or Simple Updates
    • Change orders and updates are billed on an hourly basis at the standard hourly rate for development. Invoices for change orders and updates are sent once the client confirms they are done correctly or one week after the completion of the update or change order if the client does not respond to the message that their update was completed, whichever is first. Customers who plan on making lots of change orders should strongly consider taking advantage of one of our support plans.
  • Payment For Support
    • Support work is billed in the same way as a site update. Again, customers who plan on needing lots of support should strongly consider one of our support plans.

How do customers know what is being done on their behalf?
Once you are a customer of Frontier Web Development, you will have access to our Support Ticketing System or STS. All requests for work are input to the STS system and you can always see the status of any request that you make. This system also takes the confusion out of billing. You can see copies of any current or past invoice that you receive from us. Of course, you will be e-mailed all invoices as well.

How much detail is on an invoice from Frontier?
Our invoices show you a short description of the completed, the date the work was completed and the amount of time that the work took. Support plan invoices are prepaid so with every support invoice sent, a detailed report of the work completed during the previous month is sent as well.

What are the payment terms once an invoice is received?
Payment terms are 15 days from the billing date. Invoices are not sent until the client has approved that the work was done correctly or failed to state otherwise within 7 calendar days.
